Earlier, I took one look at his face and I knew that he had something going on. He looked out of it and was not in a good mood. The Black Cloud wasn't over him, he just looked tired and I was able to coax a couple smiles out of him during dinner, but it's clear he's not well.
The past week he has felt really good and been very active and in great spirits. He said that over the weekend, he started to feel something coming on and, like the last episode, in spite of the fact that he got plenty of sleep, woke up feeling super tired like he couldn't function. He's going to stay home tomorrow from school, since it's clear that he's coming down with something or having an 'Lyme Cycle" episode.
Colby is maintaining his good progress. He never did have all the symptoms that Hunter does, and has been doing well. He hasn't missed school, but he's still up late at night several times to eat. I honestly think that it's all the gluten he's eating. While it doesn't seem to be effecting his brain and behavior much, I believe it may be disrupting his gut and, thus, sleep patterns. I am going to try and cut back again on gluten and see if that helps him sleep better. One thing I noticed he is using again is an app I found on the internet. It's sounds that help you fall asleep. There are several peaceful sounds to choose from, from soft music to outdoor sounds of frogs, water running, etc. He uses the 'rain' one. I come in in the morning and it's still playing . Whatever works!
My husband Brian is about the same. His Lexapro had taken care of many of his emotional/behavioral symptoms years ago, but he seems to have good energy and is a little more interactive in the evenings. He gets up at 4:30 am, so by early evening, he's usually checked out. He seems a little more 'with it' now and has a little more energy, I think.
