I started a blog post on May 16 that I didn't get posted, but here it is now:
"Hunter was so proud of himself last night~ he was checking his grades online and was so thrilled to have gotten a 40 out of 60 on his English test. That may not sound great, but: 1) The test was on "Othello". It is written in old English (Yoda meets Greek), He did not study one bit~ it was all just from what he remembered during class reading and the teacher's translations, and almost everyone else failed the test. His score was amazing for a kid that could not remember his friend's names a few months ago. Not only that, but his reading comprehension was also non existent. He was so excited and talking a mile a minute, telling me he has an almost photographic memory now. I have to giggle~ I am sure to someone that struggled as desperately as he did, it does seem that way.
He was also super excited that his current math grade is a 74%. He said "I think that's the highest grade I've had in math.... like.... in my whole high school career!" Again that may not seem like a high grade, but he has been pretty much a straight "F" student in math, somehow managing to scrape it up to a D right at semester time and get by. I honestly think the teachers fudged for him so he would pass sometimes.... really. So he's getting good grades for his average to go from an F to a C without trying.... as in he does not study or ever do any homework."
So: I just want to say to those parents wondering if Lyme-N is everything it claims to be: For us, it has been so much more than I ever hoped for. Yesterday may have been very different for us had it not been for Lyme-N, and every day I am thankful for the scientist that created it. The day he called me out of the blue will forever be the day that I remember as the beginning of a totally new life for our family.
