Since I first found out about the cure and posted to the Lyme Parents Yahoo Group, I have learned a few important things:
1) I needed to sign a Informed Consent form before treatment.
2) The user needs to have a positive Lyme Test to start the treatment.
3) The above test is because this treatment is considered to be 'experimental' in nature and they want to record (scientifically proven) positive and then negative Lyme tests before and after treatment for ongoing data collection.
4) A $150 Saliva test is available through a lab associated with them.
About the Informed Consent Form: It's simple and easy to understand. It states that the treatment is for experimental research and is not considered a 'permanent cure'. "Re-infection would most likely necessitate retreatment". The ingredients are considered to be Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) and "There are no new experimental chemical or existing ingredients in the formula that are now or that would be considered “prescription or synthetic” drugs." It has a confidentiality clause, a description of how to use the product and what to expect from treatment. All this is covered in two and a half pages of LARGE font. Very basic and straightforward.
I have never had a positive Lyme Test (I had a negative Western Blot and was clinically diagnosed by my LLMD a couple years later). So I am right now in the process of prepping for the saliva test. It consists of brushing your teeth with baking soda and then NOT brushing for two days. Ug. I am about halfway into the 'non brushing' hours and it's killing me not to brush my teeth! Then you floss and scrape your teeth, put the spit into a little vial and mail it off. They then look at it, often for hours, under a microscope to find the spirochetes. and I am told you get an emailed video of all the little bugs in your spit. Disgusting..... but interesting. I don't think I actually want to see the spirochetes that burrowing in all over my body.
I also still need to purchase a nebulizer. The particular nebulizer needed is the one below. Here is the link:

I look forward to my next post, where I will hopefully have the results of my saliva test back and will have begun treatment.
