Brian finished Lyme-N Jan. 3, 2016. Then in the spring of 2016 he started developing several symptoms that I believe are a result of Lyme-N working in his body. I need preface this with the fact that Brian has been on Lexapro for about 10 years for anxiety.
1) He suddenly started thinking about his dad a lot, who died 20 years ago and he has not thought about him or mentioned him much our whole marriage ( we just celebrated our 20 yr. Anniv). He said the past 6-7 mos. he has been thinking about him a lot and actually got upset when he spoke of him. Brian does not have fond memories of his dad. So, I'm not sure what his thoughts are exactly.... maybe just sad that he did not get to spend more time with him as an adult. But this is something totally new: Like after 20 years, suddenly????
2) His Lexapro is not working well anymore. He has been on it for 10 years and it has helped his anxiety immensely, he sleeps great at night, etc with NO changes to the RX in all those years. For the past 6-7 months he is waking up at night and having trouble sleeping. He has been feeling more anxious, not enjoying things he normally enjoys and is basically starting to experience symptoms he was before Lexapro 10 years ago. I won't go into a lot of detail, but it's like ADD: inability to focus, hates reading again, can't process thoughts, anger, frustration, etc. This was all present prior to Lexapro and it was a huge problem.
3) For about 6 years he has been taking blood pressure meds: Lisinpril at first and then a few years in, another one was added that is like a water pill to 'help' the Lisinpril work. Years ago when he was on the Lisinopril alone, it was not keeping his BP down at all. Once he started with the other one, his BP was perfect and he has been taking that for a few years now with no changes. About 6-7 months ago he started to have some new negative side effects and his Dr. took him off the 'water' pill about 6 weeks ago- and since then his BP actually went DOWN. It's a little on the low side now. He is still taking Lisinopril, but he forgot to get his Lisinpriol RX for 4 days and his BP was still perfect.... So, perhaps he no longer needs it. It has many negative side effects and if he can get off of it, that would be great. This is a complete 180 from the blood pressure issues he was having before, and it does run in his family.
4) There are a couple other things that are personal and I don't have his permission to post, so I won't, but all of these changes happened at almost the exact same time, roughly 2-3 months or so after he finished Lyme-N. This cannot be a coincidence. The above are things that have remained steady for years and years and now they are all suddenly happening at the same time.
I just think it would be amazing if he could go off his BP meds for good. So, we'll see!
